From Glasgow: Loch Ness, Glencoe & The Highlands
Mythical beasts, tall tales and dramatic scenery: cover the beauty of Scotland in a day.
Leaving Glasgow, we head northwest to our first stop, the village of Luss. Nestled on the western shore of Loch Lomond, it’s known for its charming cottages and breathtaking views of the loch, offering a peaceful spot for a relaxing stroll along the shore and through the village.
Continuing through Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, we make our way to Glencoe. As we pass through the glen, your driver-guide will point out scenic locations featured in films like James Bond’s Skyfall and scenes from the Harry Potter series. We pause briefly in Glencoe for a photo, where you’ll be awed by the dramatic ridges known as the Three Sisters.
Travelling north along the banks of Loch Linnhe, we head through the natural beauty of the Great Glen as we pass Britain’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis, before a stop at Spean Bridge to take in the views of Ben Nevis and admire the Commando Memorial.
Heading further into the highlands we arrive in the small picturesque village of Fort Augustus - you can choose to take part in an optional boat cruise here. For those not partaking in the Loch Ness Cruise, you can relax in one of the local coffee shops or spend your time exploring the area. Loch Ness, 24 miles long and over 700 feet deep, is most famous for its sightings of the Loch Ness monster, known as “Nessie”.
Please note: the optional Loch Ness boat cruise will not be available on December 19th and December 24th 2025.
All tired out from the action packed day, our tour will begin its journey south. The road home will be time to relax and take in the Highland scenery as we cut through the Cairngorms National Park and the scenic woodland of Perthshire. Final refreshment stop is at the historic town of Pitlochry where you can sample the whisky ice cream or enjoy some fish & chips.
